The City of Dexter operates under a City Council form of government. The governing body consists of six Aldermen elected from three wards, and a Mayor elected at-large. The Mayor and Board of Aldermen serve two-year terms, and elections are held each April. City Council meetings are held the first Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Municipal building located at 119 E Vine Street.
